FC 24 Review 2023: FC 24 the micro transaction cash cow of EA Sports a morally and creatively bankrupt studio disappoints more than expected. The game is broken and their core mechanics still don’t work. Rebranding doesn’t equate to removing internal rot.

Bugs FC 24 should rename it to Bugs 24
FC 24 is riddled with bugs, crashes and game breaking issues. Remember the new coaching system in their new career mode. Yes the new state of the art exciting new update they were heavily promoting. Looks like you can’t remove the coaches from the from the menu. Try it and you are locked in the game.
This is the kind of crap they come up with every year and can’t even fix after an update. I mean who did the testing? I got it in my first career mode.
Transferring players during cutscenes are curled and buffed unrealistically with broader shoulders than a guy on steroids.

Sometimes the text of the menu is messed up with some replaced by some variable name. Also the best part of the game is when you transfer player to your club they player can choose to reincarnate in a club jersey of their choice.
There is a video I found that shows some of the bugs I have encountered.
Repetitive transfers also plagued the playthrough. I think they video mentions some I didn’t really pay much attention but one that kept happening and I noticed was Balde to Man City. The guy has a release clause equivalent to the valuation of few clubs in Europe and he is easily sold away after signing a new contract with Barcelona.

FC 24 Review about what could they have done to make the game and career mode actually worth it ?
They pretend to listen to fans but they don’t reddit is flooding with ideas yet they don’t listen. Here is what could have actually made the game actually fun. Most people like me a core audience base plays this game or I would rather say compelled to play this crap because it allows us to place our favorite players in a single team.
Here are the list of things they should have done:
Adding real life sponsors and make the season budget dynamic
Why not add this layer of strategy to this game ? They could have conversations around adding sponsors selling rights to jersey distributions. Adding the complexity of having dynamically generated sponsors on the jersey based on what sponsors you acquired. On player career same could be done on a different tone where a player can get sponsorship from a single group of organization for his shoes.
Whatever sponsors you acquire will also take in a cut from the profit. The clubs can go bankrupt or due to some reasons simulate world events and cause some distress to the club like what happened to Everton. Why not add this complexity into the simulation engine ? Yet they chose to go with the logic that was used in the last multiple iterations of the game.
Adding options to sell assets of the game
A club consists of multiple different systems/assets. Some of the assets include:
- Studio
- Museum
- Stadium
- Medical Crew
- Ticketing system
To name a few. Why not add the complexity of managing these sub assets that include selling, loaning, getting sponsors for these assets ? Nope all the hard work is put into enhancing the experience of buying a new beard in online mode.
All leagues are just the same with a different color palette
Every league’s uniqueness is just the list of teams it has. Nothing more nothing less. La Liga I think has a mandatory release clause but you can still buy players without release clause. Why not add these unique attributes to the game.
Girona and Man City is owned by the same people. If both are qualified for the Champions League spot, both can’t participate. Do you think this will be part of the game ? Nope it is not. Club buyouts FPP nothing is part of the game.
Conclusion
In the FC 24 review I covered all the aspects of the game I disliked and expect the next game to have but we all know it is not going to happen. I am for sure boycotting the game however unless the sales are stopped this mediocrity will continue.
